nokie edwards: at the beginning bassist e, since the early 1960s, soloist of the legendary American group “the ventures” (those of “walk, don’t run”), he was my guest at “sweet 2001 guitar festival”; guitarist of the highest level and a wonderful person to say the least; we immediately became friends, so much so, precisely to make his participation in the event something real (for me!) unforgettable, agreed to form “the wanna be ventures live in soave”, an impromptu group that we created in an afternoon of rehearsals, and which we staged in both concerts scheduled for the festival and the following Monday evening on the restaurant stage “the furnace” of Mestrino (PD); here's the lineup: nokie edwards on lead guitar, Tommy Emmanuel on rhythm guitar, Paolo Manzini on bass and Pierpaolo Adda on drums; before leaving for the USA, Nokia gave me this beautiful dedication, That, For those who don't know English I'm happy to translate: “Thank you for being my friend, nokie edwards”; Thank you, Dear Nokia, for all the happiness you gave me!
